Actor and comedian Leslie Jordan passes away at 67

Beloved actor and comedian Leslie Jordan passed away on Monday. According to his agent. Jordan was reportedly in a car accident. He was 67 years old.

The Los Angeles Police Department believe the incident was caused by a medical emergency. According to authorities, Leslie's car crashed into a wall and he was pronounced dead at the scene. An official cause of death has yet to be announced.

A post to Jordan’s official Instagram page reads, “The love and light that Leslie shared will never go out and we invite you to share your memories and comfort each other during this time. In the coming days we will be giving a glimpse of a project Leslie was really proud of and was looking forward to sharing with the world,” along with a picture of the esteemed entertainer. 

 

 

 

Jordan went viral on social media during the pandemic. From impersonating celebrities to dancing away boredom during lockdown, Jordan’s videos helped bring joy and put smiles on all of his follower’s faces.

In addition to his significant following online, Jordan was also known for his film and television roles. This includes the ’90s CBS sitcom Hearts Afire and NBC’s trailblazing gay comedy Will & Grace. He also appeared in the American Horror Story franchise. 

Last year, he released his first album, Company’s Comin’, a series of country-gospel standards featuring duets with the likes of Dolly Parton and Brandi Carlile.

 

Since news of his death broke headlines, friends and those close to the late actor have shared messages about the late entertainer.

‘Call Me Kat’ star Mayim Bialik posted a tribute to her late co-star. In it she described Jordan as a “Southern gentleman; tender, wise, naughty and hilarious. We got know and love him at the height of his happiness and joy and it is inconceivable to imagine a world with our Leslie.” 

 

 

 

Dolly Parton penned a message, writing, “Leslie and I had a special bond. I think the world felt they had a special bond with him.

He will be missed by everyone who knew him personally and by everyone who was entertained by him. Rest in peace lil’ brother.”
