The Traitors host Alan Cumming won the 2024 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program..
This award had been won by RuPaul's Drag Race commander-in-chief himself, RuPaul, for eight consecutive years.
Since first winning the Emmy Award for Best Host in 2016, RuPaul has snatched a trophy in that category every award show.
But at the 76th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Cumming emerged victorious and broke RuPaul's long-lived winning streak.
Despite losing out on an Emmy for host, Drag Race remains the most-awarded reality host in Emmy's history, having won the category eight consecutive years from 2016-2023. He also holds the record for the most awards won by a Black artist, with a total of 14 Primetime Emmy's stemming from 25 nominations.
Drag Race has also won across categories recognizing outstanding achievements in costumes, editing, directing, hair styling, makeup, casting, and production design.
Past Drag Race contestants Delta Work and Raven have taken home Emmys of their own for hair and makeup.
Meanwhile, season 8 contestant Laila McQueen became the first former Drag Race star to win an Emmy for her work on a different program, 2022's We're Here.
Other hosts nominated for the same award were Kristen Kish of Top Chef; Jeff Probst of Survivor; and Mark Cuban, Lori Greiner, Kevin O’Leary, Barbara Corcoran, Robert Herjavec, and Daymond John for Shark Tank.
