Alaska recently appeared on an episode of “The Kelly Mantle Show” when Kelly asked Alaska why she wasn’t invited back for the all-winners season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”
“They don’t want to talk to me.” The “RPDR” winner replied. “And I think it comes back to the fact that I have a podcast with Willam because Willam is sort of very on the outs with World of Wonder[the production company behind the show.]”
Season four contestant Willam was infamously disqualified from his season after being called to the stage and was told that she was in violation of her contract and that she must leave the show immediately.
It was later said that Willam was removed from the show after he repeatedly met with his partner in his hotel room. Being that contestants are not allowed to reveal their involvement on the show until the cast is announced, Willam violated his contract.
In 2018, the two queens launched a popular podcast called “Racer Chaser,” which features Willam and Alaska recapping and providing hilarious commentary on episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
“And so when we decided we wanted to do a podcast together, someone was like, ‘We’re really disappointed that you wanted to do a podcast.’ He didn’t say that to me, he said it to someone here, like someone on my team,” continued Alaska in her interview.
“I never really put two and two together til it was like, ghosted. And the door was closed. And now it’s like a joke. The door is fully closed. But I would love to go back.”
Kelly then says she feels like World of Wonder “need to open that door.”
Alaska’s been booked and busy these days between the “Race Chaser” podcast and Drag: The Musical, which she co-wrote.
