We’ve got a winner baby! RuPaul’s Drag Race All Star’s Global just announced the newest queen to be added to Drag Race Hall of Fame!
During the finale, the four remaining queens, Nehellenia, Alyssa Edwards, Kitty Scott Claus, and Kween Kong were challenged to write their verses and learn choreography for a new song called "Dance Like The World Is Watching."
After completing their verses, each queen sat down for a tic tac chat with judge Michelle Visage, each reflecting on their journey thus far.
In a final twist of the season, Mama Ru announced that Nehellenia, Alyssa, Kween and Kitty would all perform in the final lip sync for the crown to “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga.
Before the crowning, Alyssa and Nehellenia of Italy, Kween Kong of the Down Under franchise, and Kitty Scott Klaus of the UK were asked why drag is important.
Before announcing the victorious queen, RuPaul took the time to praise the remaining queens for their hard work and dedication to the competition, effectively making them all winners in their own right.
“I just want to add to all of you that what you have all displayed here on this stage is the promise of a world filled with beauty and love and kindness and creativity,” Ru said.
“It’s a world that we were all promised. You are all such perfect representatives of what the future could hold for all those kids out there, seeing the possibilities of what you can create. Little paint and powder and a whole lot of courage. You are all winners. You should be very proud of yourself.”
It was then that the winner of the first-ever Global All-Stars was named. Ultimately the title went to Alyssa Edwards.
In her response to why drag is important, Edwards said: "From Mesquite, Texas, there was nobody like me on television. I had a father that put Superman in front of me and that was not my superhero."
"There will be another Justin that will be at home in some small town somewhere with the same father and upbringing that will watch this and go, because this person is brave and courageous, maybe I can be as well," she added.
Alyssa won the title alongside the $200,000 prize, a year's supply of cosmetics, and a crown and scepter. The episode also saw Soa de Muse was awarded the Miss Global Peacemaker Award and a cash prize of $10,000.
“Always and forever, Alyssa Edwards,” said the Mesquite, Texas queen. "This has been a long time coming," she said at the end of the episode.
Alyssa competed in the fifth season of the hit Emmy-winning US reality competition RuPaul's Drag Race and the second season of its All-Stars US franchise.
She is the third queen from her season to win an All-Stars season, following in the footsteps of Alaska in All-Stars Season 2 and Jinkx Monsoon in All-Stars Season 7.
In honor of the RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars grand finale, MTV and World of Wonder partnered with All Out – an international organization that fights for LGBTQ+ rights around the world – and made a $100,000 donation.
