Drag Race Down Under queen, Anita Wigl’it, shared shocking news on Wednesday that she has been hospitalized with a severe case of pneumonia.
Anita’s health update came to fans from a post to Instagram Stories along with a photo of her lying in a hospital bed with medical tubes attached to her face.
“Some not so good news sorry!” her post began before revealing her pneumonia diagnosis.”
“The good news is that the diagnosis came in today, so the specific treatments can begin,” she continued.
While she can begin treatments right away, "unfortunately I’ll be here at least 24 hours before recovery at home…”
This also means she will likely have to pull out of her upcoming appearances, including the ‘Queered Scriptless’ show. “I was so looking forward to it and am really hoping to do the 2027 show instead.”
With a little rest and recovery, she remains confident we will see her back on stage in no time at all!

The New Zealand performer wiggled her way into viewers' hearts after competing in season one of Drag Race Down Under where she placed eighth.
She later returned to the franchise for a stint on Canada vs The World, placing 7th but also winning the title of Miss Congenality.
Additionally, Anita helped co-host and judge House of Drag alongside fellow Drag Race alum Kita Mean. She is the owner and resident queen of the popular Caluzzi Cabaret in Auckland.
Sending well wishes, positive thoughts, and hopes for a speedy recovery to the fierce Anita!
