Jason De Puy (AKA Salina EsTitties) surprised everyone when CBS announced he would be cast as the first-ever drag queen to compete on Big Brother.
While Jason’s casting is largely seen as long overdue, one contestant, Kamuela “Kamu” Kirk, is being accused of making anti-drag comments via the Big Brother live feeds.
The concerning remarks stem from a conversation between Kirk, an MMA fighter, and fellow contestant Rick Devens. The two commented on house guest Drew Campbell’s unicorn-themed pajamas.

Are those dudes dressed in women’s clothes?” asked Devens. Kirk said they were Mallory Aurichio's and that he was asked to wear a pair of the pajamas, but declined to. He told Kirk “I was with them, I’m like, I’m not doing that, bro… Not until Jason is [Head of Household.]”
Kirk replied, "Bro, miss me with the drag stuff. Miss me. I’m still an MMA guy, and I have an image to uphold."
Jason De Puy competed on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars 11 and expressed pride in his work during the cast reveal promos for Big Brother, saying: “I’m gonna say that I’m a professional drag queen, and I’m going to read the room to see if anyone clocks my tea. If they clock me, I’m just going to be like, ‘Yeah, I was on Drag Race.'”
These comments grabbed the attention of viewers, including former Big Brother contestant Frankie Grande. The season 16 houseguest took to social media to express his disappointment in the statements made.
“Um. What the f— is this horses–t?! Get these homophobic bigots out of the f—ing house IMMEDIATELY. Both of them. Ew this conversation makes me sick to my stomach. I’m disgusted. This better be the biggest thing ever when I wake up tomorrow or I’m flipping a table… f—. Ew. Gross.”

Grande’s X post sparked a conversation online about whether or not the exchange was enough to deserve the collective side-eye from viewers.
After reflecting on the footage shown, Frankie gave Devens the benefit of the doubt, writing a follow-up X post.
“Ok. I concede there is not enough info in the clip to understand Devens’ motivations. Hopefully he was just [tapping] into Kamu’s energy for game reasons. Regardless, men behaving in a repulsed or shocked way when a man dresses feminine or in women’s clothing is homophobic. Period.”
