Bob and Monet finally speak on Shangela's sexual assault allegations

In a new Sibling Rivarly podcast episode called The One About Diddy, Bob, and Monét discuss the sexual assault and sex trafficking allegations in the cases involving P. Diddy, and talk through their feelings about learning of the alarming accusations against Shangela.

"Some people have taken my silence as some form of allyship,” Bob explained. “Someone even accused me of quote-unquote 'working overtime to silence victims,' which seems really wild to me personally, a really wild accusation.”

Shangela was accused of rape in a lawsuit by a former production assistant on the reality series We’re Here which she hosted alongside Bob and Eureka O’Hara. While Shangela was dropped from her hosting gig, producers never confirmed the reasoning behind her absence from the show.

Later, a Rolling Stone article revealed five more people accusing Shangela of sexually assaulting or attempting to assault them while they were unable to give consent.

“The six people is incredibly damning and I certainly hope these people the justice that they need,” Bob continued. “I can't even imagine what it's like to see someone who did something like that to you on TV getting their 10s or dancing in the club next to you.”

A month after headlines of new claims against Shangela came to light, the star posted to social media, captioning one post: “Focusing on the light,” he wrote in the caption. “Grateful for u Mom, and for my friends, family, mentors, my faith, and genuine people around the world who help lift my spirit thru the madness. I’ve always told y’all to never give up… and I promise not to, either. No matter what.”

Monét commented on the connection between the allegations against both Diddy and Shangela, observing that “obviously there’s some through line between people in power.”

While the lawsuit brought against Shangela was dropped in February 2024 after a settlement was reached during mediation, the Rolling Stone article disclosing the five additional alleged sexual assault cases was published in March 2024.
