Coleman Domingo dismisses drag "Tears" music video critics

Actor Coleman Domingo is dismissing the criticism around his role in Sabrina Carpenter’s new music video for “Tears.”
The “Four Seasons” actor replied to a user on X who commented on his appearance in the video, which was largely inspired by the campy 1975 cult-classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show and features him in drag.
"Hollywood ain’t s---. Colman Domingo is a solid actor. He’s gay as well, so I figured he’d be highly backed. But nope!" the commenter began.
They continued: "Guess he was too manly even for a gay man. Had to put him in drag in Sabrina Carpenter’s video huh? Bulls---!"
Domingo replied to the user on X, telling them not to take the video too seriously.
"It’s a character. Like all the characters I play. Calm down brother. Enjoy the video and the fun that it possesses,” he writes.
Then, he proceeds to quote RuPaul’s iconic words to live by. “Dance it out! It ain’t that deep. 'We are born naked and everything else is drag' Suits, t shirts, dresses. All drag," he wrote.
Domingo begins the wild and lustful storyline with stellar lip-syncing and choreography. Throughout the music video, we see quite a few drag looks from Domingo’s character, mirroring the androgynous and genderfluid themes that make up the Rock Horror Picture Show.
The entire video is queer-coded and plays into a cinematic universe of diversity and inclusion regardless of sexual and gender identity. Watch the entire music video below:
