Drag queen fires back at Marjorie Taylor Greene comments calling her a "monster" and "child predator"

Marjorie Taylor Greene is accusing public media PBS and NPR of using taxpayer money to push a leftist agenda and, in the process, attacked a popular drag queen in a heated congressional subcommittee hearing on Wednesday.

The hearing, called “Anti-American Airwaves: Holding the Heads of NPR and PBS Accountable,” was headed by Greene, who was outspoken about her efforts to defund US public media.

“It has leaned further and further left, so much so that they now have Drag Queen Story Time instead of good old Sesame Street,” Greene said of PBS on Tuesday during an interview on the rightwing channel Newsmax.

“They are now part of transing children, brainwashing children about gender, which proved to be one of the most important issues in the 2024 presidential election. That was a big loser for Democrats.”

Greene continued her attack on PBS during Wednesday’s hearing over claims that it featured drag performer, Little Miss Hot Mess on one of its children’s shows.

Green held up a photo of the drag performer Little Miss Hot Mess, whom she described as a “child predator” and “monster” before calling for the complete defunding of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

However, PBS CEO Paula Kerger responded that the performer Greene referred to did not actually air on PBS, but instead was a New York City affiliate station’s digital project in collaboration with the city’s department of education.

Now, Little Miss Hot Mess is firing back hours after Greene’s public attack. The multi-hyphenate drag queen released a scathing statement regarding comments made in Wednesday’s hearing.

“Marjorie Taylor Greene should find another hobby besides attacking drag queens, public media, and other beloved American institutions,” she said.

“Sadly, I’m not surprised by her calling me hateful names. But the unfortunate irony of Greene’s political bullying is that while she claims to promote liberty, in reality, she just wants to tell us all what to think and do. That’s not freedom, that’s fascism.”

In her statement, the drag personality also highlighted the importance of public media that is diverse and reflective of all communities.

“Greene’s attempts to defund PBS and NPR are the worst form of censorship, reflecting her own ignorance and the Republican party’s authoritarian impulses. The reality is that communities all over the country – including in her own district – deserve access to educational public media that reflects the diversity and creativity that makes our world beautiful.

“Let’s be real: we’ve seen this all before, and this re-run is tired and boring. Greene’s distracting transphobia and homophobia harms real LGBTQ children and adults, and teaches nothing but hate," she continued.  "Frankly, I’d be horrified to watch her kid’s show. Americans can decide for themselves who the real monster is."

"Ultimately, Greene should learn a lesson from drag performers: rather than spreading disinformation and hate, leading with kindness, love, and joy (plus a flawless face) will get you everywhere you need to go in life,” she concluded.
