Drag Race France queen Kitty Space comes out as transgender

Kitty Space is coming out! The popular French queen shared a passionate message with their fans about the life-changing moment as well as share why she had reservations about coming out to the public.

"My name is Kiara [trans flag emoji; heart emoji]. I'm so happy to come out as trans. It was hard to hide, but today I want to live free; to be happy by being myself."

Kitty came ninth in season two of the Drag Race spin-off, which is hosted by season 12 queen Nicky Doll.

She continued, "What am I, deep inside: a woman living hidden while being unhappy? Or [someone who can] live free and be fulfilled? That question has been asked at length. Protect my loved ones who would take [the news of coming out as trans] badly, or protect myself?"

"I chose to protect myself, and also protect those who hide and who don't dare [to come out]," Kitty concluded. "Let's live free. It's our body, our gender, our choices."

Drag Race France contestants Kam Hugh, Kahena, Piche, Sarah Forever, and Moon all offered their support and heartfelt messages to Space.

Space follows in the ever-growing community of trans queens coming out in recent years, Jinkx Monsoon, Adore Delano, and Farrah Moan to mention a few.

The queen also took the time to express appreciation for those in her life who have been there for her including her fellow Drag Race France star Moon.

“Thank you especially to you my sister for being there, @moondragqueen it is thanks to you and your strength that I took the plunge.”

The third season of the franchise is currently airing on WOW Presents Plus.
