'Drag Race' queens join cast of Disney's 'Hocus Pocus' sequel

In case you missed it, the beloved Halloween classic ‘Hocus Pocus’ is getting a sequel after 29 years since the original premiere. The highly anticipated film is already in post-production and rumor has it, a few of your favorite celebrity drag queens are just itching to put a spell on you. 

According to Entertainment Weekly, Ginger Minj has joined the cast of the upcoming Disney+ movie. Fans will get the chance to see Minj playing a drag queen impersonating the wicked Winifred Sanderson, originally played by the legendary Bette Midler. 

Joining Minj are fellow Drag Race stars Kornbread Jete and Kahmora Hall as drag versions of Mary and Sarah Sanderson respectively. In the 1993 movie, the two characters were played by Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker. 

The sequel to the fan-favorite holiday film was announced to be in development in March 2021. 

“Sistaaaahs! It’s been 300 years… But we’re BACK! 🧹 #HocusPocus2 arrives Fall 2022 on @DisneyPlus,” Midler posted to Instagram

 

 

Earlier this month, footage reportedly shot on set of the film surfaced, showing Minj is dressed clad in costume as Winifred Sanderson. 

However, Disney and the queens reportedly set to be featured in the sequel have yet to confirm their appearances.

Ginger, 37, was previously a finalist on 'Drag Race All-Stars' season 6. Meanwhile, Kahmora, 30, competed on season 13 of the cult drag series. Kornbread who is also 30 years old was seen on season 14 of the show, which premiered in January.
