'Drag Race' star Bosco is 'happiest I've ever been' after coming out trans

Slowly but surely, trans queens are taking over RuPaul's Drag Race—and we can't get enough of it! On Thursday, Drag Race season 14 contestant Bosco took to Twitter to share a personal and emotional coming-out post to fans and followers.

“I can't really think of a better time to tell y'all so here it goes: 🏳️‍⚧️I’m straight too🏳️‍⚧️,” Bosco wrote, referencing contestant Maddy Morphosis who is the show’s first straight cis male queen.

“I'm a very private person but it would feel silly to not talk about this while I have this platform,” Bosco continued.

After Drag Race filming ended last summer, the 28-year-old drag artist said they focused on their transitioning journey and began HRT. They also added that they look forward to exploring surgical procedures in the future.

Along with their tweet, Bosco shared their first official “in transition” selfie and revealed they would be using she/they pronouns out of drag from now on.

“This is something that's been on my mind for over a decade now,” Bosco revealed and continued to explain that they were and still are “terrified” of the treatment they would receive. However, the Seattle-based queen has since found a stable support network.

“I'm now in a place where I'm surrounded by love and support. Love from my heaven-sent boyfriend, stunning peers, and incredible friends. I'm not quite where I want to be yet, but I'm starting to see her peak through more and more.”

Bosco’s news was rightfully met with love and positive messages from fans and fellow drag artists on social media. Fellow season 14 competitors Maddy Morphosis, DeJa Skye, Jorgeous, Orion Story, and Daya Betty all reached out to congratulate the newly out queen.

Bosco joins fellow out season 14 transgender contestants Kerri Colby and Kornbread "The Snack" Jeté, officially making it the season with the most trans contestants in the show’s history.

In their tweet, Bosco assures fans “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been” before signing off.
