We are finally getting some new details about the upcoming season of Drag Race Sweden. World of Wonder has officially announced the premiere date, host and judges for the newest international iteration.
The Swedish program joins the ever-growing list of franchise shows along with Thailand, Chile, Canada, the UK, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Australasia, France, the Philippines, Italy and the US original.
Hosting will be actor and fellow drag queen Robert Fux. Also sitting at the judging panel will be Farao Groth, stand-up comedian and radio/television host, and Kayo, the host of Fångarna på fortet (Fort Boyard) and winner of the Melodifestivalen with her band Afro-Dite.
“I’m incredibly delighted and honored by the task to host Drag Race Sweden!” Fux shared in a statement. “Not many countries in the world have had such a vibrant and diverse drag culture as Sweden and finally we’ll get to display it to the whole world.”
“I look forward to seeing the queens’ craftsmanship and performance as they offer the television audience extra everything and compete for a worthy title,” Fux continued. “It will be a unique blend of competition, love, show, and glitter.”
Kayo commented, “Nothing beats glitter, glamor and a tight corset! Drag Race is colorful and spectacular but also fun and sharp.”
Drag Race Sverige will premiere exclusively on the streamer of all things drag, WOW Presents Plus in the UK and internationally on Saturday 4 March at 8:30pm GMT.
