Drag Race UK's Victoria Scone calls for drag king inclusion on the show

Drag Race UK contestant Victoria Scone is calling for more inclusion of drag kings on the hit drag competition show.  The season three queen made history as the first cisgender female contestant on any series of the Drag Race franchise.

When asked  about inclusion in the franchise, Scone admits to Digital Spy that she does not know why there are more opportunities for drag kings on the show.

“I did a drag king look on Canada Vs the World so obviously that's something I'm very passionate about – getting drag kings on Drag Race.

I just don't know why it's taken so long at this point to be honest. I would really love to see it. There's absolutely, in my opinion, no reason why they couldn't be. I think it would give the show a lovely little shake up and keep it fresh. It would draw in more people as well. More people would want to watch it because [currently] it's blocking out a big chunk of the queer community that watch the show. And what's the worst that's gonna happen? Let's just do it shall we?”

Scone touched on how the inclusion of all performers on the stage would bring positivity and a much needed change.

"Diversity is just always going to be a plus in every sense,” she told the publication. ‘It brings variety to performance as well as the fact that everyone deserves a seat at the table, regardless of what gender you happen to be assigned at birth.”

After appearing on the show, Scone made appearance on the first season of Canada vs the World. Since her history making emergence on Drag Race UK, there has only been one other AFAB performer to grace the stage of any of the shows in the franchise — Clover Bish on Drag Race España.

Additionally, a drag king has still yet to be cast on any of the franchise’s shows or spin offs.

I would love it, trans folks are finally in the forefront of the show. Another idea is there should be an All Drag King competition with the most fabulous Drag Kings like Landon Cider!
