Drag Race's Gottmik arrested for DUI

Drag Race alum has been arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a car crash in Burbank, California. 

According to TMZ, Burbank police responded to a crash on September 16 involving a black Porsche and multiple parked vehicles.

It was reported that the driver of the Porsche collided with a parked Toyota Camry, causing them to hit two additional vehicles.

Police said that Gottmik, whose  “displayed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication.”

The drag artist, whose real name is  Kade Gottlieb, was released the next day on September 17.

The incident occurred just days before her appearance at Revry’s King of Drag season premiere, where he praised the kings for bringing a fresh face to drag entertainment. 

“People have been asking me like, ‘Why is drag kind of like stale right now? Is it like too many Drag Races or what’s going on?’ And I’m like, it’s because we’ve seen drag be that. We need drag to be this. This is the future. This is gonna unstale the community.”

The 30-year-old drag artist has yet to publicly comment on the ordeal. Others were quick to remark on the situation. 

Season 18 contestant Briar Blush wrote: “Economy so bad Gottmik didn’t wanna pay for an uber.”

 

 

 

Meanwhile, Daya Betty condemned Gottmik asking on X: “Girl you can’t afford a ride share?”

 

 

 

Gottmik broke RuPaul’s Drag Race history in 2021 when he became the first transgender man to compete on the cult competition show back in season 13. 

During his stint, Gottmik ultimately finished in a joint third-fourth place alongside fellow competitor Rosé. He later returned to the franchise for RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars Season 9 in 2024, where he finished fourth.
