Lil Nas X wow's audiences with performance at BET Awards.

Everyone is talking about Lil Nas X's BET performance

This year's BET Awards were memorable for many reasons. From a subtle Beyonce tribute to honoring Queen Latifa with a Lifetime Achievement Award. But no one quite stole the show like Lil Nas X and his performance.

In fact, the "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" singer wow everyone on the red carpet in two bold gender-fluid outfits. The first outfit, by designer Andrea Grossi, featured a structured skirt, corset, and jacket, which the singer paired with a pair of white suspenders. The blue and white gown was covered in detailed illustrations.

Later, he stunned the crowd with embroidered Richard Quinn suit. The floral patterned two piece screamed 70's as he made his way to the show.

But for his own spectacle, the artist dressed head to toe in gold. The look was completed with a snake circlet, oversized collar and skirt.

During his performance, Lil Nas paid tribute to Michael Jackson and his hit song, "Remember the Time." Together with his backup dancers, they nailed the exact choreography from Jackson's music video.

However, it actually was when the song that really got fans buzzing. Arguably, one of the best parts of tonight's award show was when he shared a passionate kiss with one of his backup dancers.

But as much as fans loved this performance, critics were quick to share their opinions

After one person tweeted that the rapper shouldn't have used African culture in his act and that he should "respect our ancestors," Lil Nas X responded by tweeting, "y'all really like to pretend homosexuality didn't exist in African culture."

Meanwhile, others praising the artist for celebrating his sexuality in hip-hop and Pride Month. Even legendary hip-hop producer, artist Sean "Diddy" Combs tweeted in support of the performance.

"Lil Nas X did that!!" Combs tweeted. "Be fearless!!!"

Later on,BET described as a "gesture (that) was particularly fitting during Pride Month." Something we think Queen Latifa agrees with too!
