MTV announced its newest series, The Real Friends of WeHo, a show chronicling the lives of six gay men living in West Hollywood, California. The series is being called the equivalent of the “Real Housewives of WeHo.”
The star studded cast includes celebrity stylist and Canada’s Drag Race judge Brad Goreski, choreographer Todrick Hall, actor Curtis Hamilton, Buttah Skincare CEO Dorión Renaud, social media star Joey Zauzig, and Jaymes Vaughan, who is the fiancé of actor Jonathan Bennett.
"West Hollywood is the epicenter of the gay world, " declares Goreski.
According to a press release, the series will offer an “unfiltered and honest look at a select group of friends living, loving and pursuing their passions in the West Hollywood community” and “provides an up close and personal glimpse into their lives as they perform in front of crowds of thousands, make high stakes business deals, celebrate important life milestones, work the red carpet, and reveal their most intimate truths to family and friends."
The show's first teaser debuted to fans on Jan. 5. It comes just in time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community amid the recent increase of hate against queer individuals.
“If you like the wives, don't miss these new house guys,” insists the narrator featured in the newly released trailer. News of the new series comes after the music and television giant announced it would be the new home of RuPaul's Drag Race.
The Real Friends of WeHo will premier on Friday, January 20 at 9 p.m. ET/PT following RuPaul’s Drag Race.
