Fans are campaigning for Jinkx Monsoon to host SNL

On Tuesday, official social media pages for “Saturday Night Live” reached out to followers asking who they think should serve as host.

The comedy show received a variety of responses ranging from the queen of country music, Dolly Parton to Law & Order leads Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni.

But many fans are campaigning for All-Stars 7 queen Jinkx Monsoon to fill in the position. In fact, Monsoon recently took to Twitter to respond to fans' efforts to manifest the queen’s next gig on the NBC show.

Additionally, Monsoon retweeted a YouTube video of herself doing various impressions as an audition for SNL that she filmed in 2021.

And frankly, the fans aren’t wrong. Jinkx quickly became a fan favorite during her season 5 run on RuPaul’s Drag Race. Not is her comedic timing always on point, but her acting chops are also impressive.

Monsoon’s status as a “Snatch Game” legend came after her infamous performance as Little Edie during season 5. Later, she would encompass the personas of legendary songstress and actress Judy Garland and “Russian Doll” actress Natasha Lyonne in All-Stars 7. No doubt all three impersonations help Monsoon secure her title as the Queen of Snatch Game.

However, Monsoon isn’t the only drag queen wanting to land a spot on SNL. Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change also threw their names into the hat for consideration.

Whether or not Jinkx has serious interest in hosting Saturday Night Live, we could definitely see the comedy queen raking in plenty of laughs from viewers.
