Another season, another newly crowned queen!
After a total of eight weeks of lip-sync challenges, maxi-challenges and runway face-offs, the Australian/New Zealand iteration of RuPaul’s Drag Race has finally crowned its season three winner in an nail-biting grand finale.
Ultimately, Ru crowned Isis as Down Under’s Next Drag Superstar alongside season two winner Spankie Jackzon.
With her win, Isis has become the first queen of the series to make it to the finale without placing in the bottom two.
She is also the first Australian competitor to win the Down Under crown as previous winners Kita Mean (Season 1) and Spankie Jackzon (Season 2) were both from New Zealand.
"Condragulations, you're a winner, baby," RuPaul told her upon announcing her win.
“It means everything. It just goes to show when you believe in your dreams and shoot for the stars, you can achieve anything” Isis said upon accepting the crown and title.
“Thank you to all my fellow contestants. Especially Gabriella. Love you, girl.
“It was an amazing season. Thank you all for the wonderful support. Not only from myself but also all of the season three sisters. It’s been an amazing season. So thank you all!”
“This is for Australia!” she proclaimed. “Now, let’s do it! Let’s have a drink! Oh My God, I need one!”
The fandom knows Isis largely for her high-fashion looks. In 2019, Isis was awarded Best Costumier and Miss Congeniality at the Melbourne Drag Awards.
Isis takes home a crown and a sceptre from Amped Accessories, a year’s supply of Anastasia Beverly Hills Cosmetics and a cash prize of $50,000.
In a post to Instagram, Spankie wrote, “What an amazing night celebrating our new sisters and their journey plus Crowning our new Queen @isisavisloren. I bow to Thee. Congratulations also to @gabriella_labucci and @theofficialflor for making it to the end of this mammoth task. You should both be immensely proud as we all are of you.”
