'Gay Days' returns to Disneyland complete with RPDR faves

Entertainment and events continue to reopen across the nation since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Amid the growing list of events is Gay Days returning to Disneyland.

Spend a fabulous weekend at Disneyland and California Adventure with family, friends and other members of the LGBTQ+ community.

The 'Happiest Place on Earth' is scheduled to host the 23rd annual Gay Days from September 17-19.

There is a schedule of events for each day of Gay Days, with one park playing "host" each day. While the schedule is not yet completed, the organization hosting the celebration is already giving us a sneak peak of the activities to come.

In year’s past, Friday is when attendees typically arrive. Meanwhile, Saturday is spent together in Disneyland with Sunday reserved for Disney California Adventure.

This year, RuPaul’s Drag Race Persian princess Jackie Cox hosts the weekend event, welcoming thousands of Disney fans to the California park.

Friday night experience Broadway Night at the Grand Californian Hotel, with An Intimate Conversation With Chita Rivera featuring the Broadway legend with theatre historian Eddie Shapiro.

Following is An Evening With Audra McDonald featuring the six-time Tony winner in concert.

Drag superstar Cox, and other RuPaul's Drag Race faves Nina West and Jan Sport, will also make appearances over the course of the weekend.

The Disney event also offers family friendly events such as scavenger hunts, ride takeovers and a massive group photo in front of the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The California Adventure event usually involves more ride takeovers (Grizzly River Run, Mickey’s Philharmagic, Silly Symphony Swings) and even a group photo on Pixar Pier.

Not to mention everything else the organization has planned for all attendees!

You can find all of the fun details on the Gay Days Anaheim website

The first Gay Days Anaheim attracted approximately 2,500 people in 1998. Today, the independently organized annual event brings more than 30,000 Gay Days attendees to Anaheim’s Disney parks during the three-day event.

Due to the months-long lockdowns and many feeling isolated in their homes, the turn out for this year’s Gay Days is bound to be even greater!
