Gia Gunn shares pics post rib remodeling surgery

Drag Race royalty Gia Gunn revealed on TikTok she has undergone rib sculpting surgery as part of her dream body transformation journey. 

“I’m getting 10 of my ribs surgically fractured to get a smaller waist. It’s always been my dream to have a snatched waist with a curvy body, there’s a big difference between male and female anatomy,” Gia shared in a social media post explaining her decision to fans. 

“My body is fully developed as a full 35 year old man. I’m doing this because I’m a f*cking tr*nny, and this is my dream.

Why be the diamond in the rough when you can be the star? Another thing is that surgery is not going to change your whole entire life, but she can definitely give you a little bit more confidence.”

The procedure is becoming one of the most requested says The American Society of Plastic Surgeons, who describes rib sculpting or remodeling as the scoring or cutting of the ribs to achieve a better defined waist. 

Patients having rib sculpting done can expect to see a more tapered appearance and two-to-four inch difference in their waistline. 

Many fans were supportive of Gia but also urged her to keep in mind the potential risks that come with the drastic surgery. 

While risks are low, there are concerns of injury to the lungs, nerve irritation and failure of the rib to heal post procedure.

Gia was first introduced to the public after competing on Season 6 of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2014 and later returned for All Stars Season 4 in 2018.

She publicly came out as transgender in April 2017 on Transgender Visibility Day, sharing with fans that she had been on hormone replacement therapy for about a year.

“But I feel good that I’m finally doing something for myself,” Gia said positively before the surgery. “This dad bod of mine, I’ve had it with her.”

The drag artist updated fans with another social media post documenting herself post-operation that all went well and that she would be sharing results soon!
