According to a new trailer from the newest season of Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs The World, Justin Trudeau will be making an appearance.
The prime minister of Canada joins the competing queens as a guest star. His inclusion is historic as he will be the first world leader to appear on a show in the Canada's Drag Race franchise.
What exactly Trudeau will do during the program is unclear, though he’s not seen sitting behind the judging panel, so it’s unlikely he’s going to be critiquing anyone’s performance or outfit.
We’ve previously seen other political figures in the Drag Race universe. U.S. Reps. Nancy Pelosi and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have both acted as guest judges on the US series.
This season will be hosted by past contestant Brooke Lynn Hytes and will feature nine queens from across various versions of the drag comeptition series.
The roster of competing queens include: Anita Wigl’it (RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under season one), Icesis Couture (winner of Canada’s Drag Race season two), Kendall Gender (runner-up on season two of Canada’s Drag Race), Ra’Jah O’Hara (RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11 and runner up on RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season six), Rita Baga (runner-up on Canada’s Drag Race season one).
Also competitng is Silky Nutmeg Ganache (RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11 and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season six), Stephanie Prince (Canada’s Drag Race season two), Vanity Milan (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season three), and Victoria Scone (RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season three).
The Canada vs The World is only the second iteration to include this format. It was largely modeled after the 2022 spinoff, UK vs. the World.
Other guest judges on deck include Anjulie, Hollywood Jade, Jeanne Beker, Joe Zee, Sarain Fox, and humorist Gary Janetti, who is married to panelist Brad Goreski.
Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs. the World premieres Friday, Nov. 18, on WOW Presents Plus.
