On the latest episode of Drag Race, Lexi Love, opened up a bit about her past experiences and hardships when she reflected on being a victim of human trafficking.
The 34-year-old was being interviewed on the runway by legendary contestant Latrice Royale as an audition for the Las Vegas show RuPaul’s Drag Race Live.
Each of the remaining contestants had to take part in a photoshoot, a group musical dance number, and a promo video.
“I was a homeless drug addict”, Lexi revealed to Latrice. “So, I am, like RuPaul said, a survivor. I’ve survived a human trafficking incident.”
She described being at a hotel party with friends, where they were under the influence of various substances.
The queen returned to the hotel after taking their friends home and later remembers she “woke up handcuffed to a bed and stayed there for 48 hours.”
As she began to break down, remembering the past, she apologized: "I'm sorry, those moments make me feel like I just want this to be a long-term journey, Honey.
She continued: “I’ve survived so many f***** up things in life that I’m prepared for anything you throw at me. I might cry, but I am prepared to handle anything.”
Latrice comforted the hopeful queen, saying: "Life experience is the best teacher in the world. Sometimes what we go through and experience in life, while we're in it, we're not feeling like it's doing this service."
She added: "But look at you, the strength, the perseverance, what happens when you put pressure [on yourself!]."
Lexi is currently in the final four of season 17. She competes for the crown alongside queens Sam Star, Onya Nurve, and Jewels Sparkles.
