Madonna kicks off Pride Month with surprise performance in NYC

The queen of pop surprised fans on Thursday, June 4, with a pop-up performance in the middle of Times Square.  The mini concert was in partnership with Grindr.

Not only did the set help kick off Pride month 2026, but it also helped ring in the release of her upcoming album.

The 67-year-old took to the TSX Entertainment stage in the heart of NYC, where she performed a total of six songs.

"Come one gays, girls, guys, dolls! Happy Pride!" she shouted as her set began.

Two songs were recently released tracks from her upcoming album, Confessions II: “I Feel So Free” and “Bring Me Your Love.”

The latter song was first introduced to fans during a performance with Sabrina Carpenter at her 2026 Coachella set back in April.

After debuting “Love Sensation,” Madonna went back in time to songs from her 2005 Confessions on a Dance Floor album, including “Get Together,” “I Love New York” and “Hung Up.”

At one point in the show, Madonna could be seen hanging partly over the transparent railing of the elevated stage. It was a heart-stopping stunt for many of the audience members watching below her.

It proved even more impressive when she pulled off the move after realizing she did it all in a tight, lacy pink corset, satin thigh-high stockings, and a pair of silver laced-up boots.

Another prominent section of the performance included a heartfelt slideshow of powerful images illustrating the history of the LGBTQ+ rights movement and queer trailblazers, which played as Madonna stood onstage alongside her backup dancers.

Madonna’s new album Confessions II is set to be released on July 3.
