Marina Summers posts homage to women around the world on International Women's Day

Marina Summers is honoring International Women’s Day by celebrating her newfound self and all the bold, fierce, and powerful women around the world with a touching tribute.

“Today I saw a Facebook post of a local news outlet celebrating International Women’s Day with an artwork featuring me alongside strong women I deeply admire. As a proud trans woman, I’m truly elated and honored to be included and celebrated,” she said.

The queen then went on to say that while the day should be all about positivity and festivity, she can't ignore the “flood of hate in the comments section.” She lists just a few of the derogatory and misogynistic slurs she has encountered as an openly transgender woman.

“I’m no stranger to homophobic and transphobic attacks online,” she continued to say.  “...but my heart goes out to all my trans sisters who face this daily, not just on social media but in real life too. And to every woman, of every background, who endures misogynistic remarks and acts in this harsh world- everyday of their lives.”

Marina only just came out as transgender last month in a statement shared to her social media, allowing us to get to know her “as the woman I'm becoming.” The announcement was met with plenty and love from fans and fellow queens.

To conclude her beautiful homage to womanhood, she remarked, "I pay tribute to all the women who dare to live fully every single day. Here’s to the women who lead, who rest, who love, who survive—and to every woman still finding her path.

“I am a woman, shaped by a supportive, loving, accepting, and understanding environment. Every woman deserves the same.”

Marina gained international recognition after competing on the first season of “Drag Race Philippines” back in 2022, where she placed first runner-up. She later returned to the franchise for the second season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World” in 2024, where she again placed first runner-up.
