New set of 'Drag Race' series coming, World of Wonder announces

In an effort to officially take over the world, World of Wonder has announced plans for casting for three new international iterations of everyone’s favorite drag competition series.

On Tuesday, it was revealed that casting is open for new shows set in Mexico, Brazil, and Germany. The production company took to social media for local queens in their respective countries to apply for the chance of a lifetime.

The new versions of “Drag Race” would bring the number of international spin-offs o a whopping grand total of nine.

The show set in Germany would be the seventh European country to be included in the franchise and Mexico the second Spanish-speaking country to be included after Spain. Meanwhile, Brazil would be the first Southern American country to join the official Drag Race franchise.

We’ve seen many talented drag artists with ties to the new host countries over the years. Two major names to come out of Brazil include Pablo Vittar and Gloria Groove.

Vittar made waves in 2015 with the success of her music video "Open Bar", a Portuguese-language version of Major Lazer's song "Lean On. " In 2022, Vittar made history as the first drag artist to perform at the Coachella music festival.

Such talents have also graced our Drag Race tv screens too. Valentina and Crystal Methyd hail from Mexican heritage while the winner of Queen of the Universe season one, Grag Queen, happens to be Brazilian.

Applications for the new sets of series close on August 26. Queens hoping for a shot can apply here
