The latest winner of RuPaul's Drag Race, Nymphia Wind, who was rasied in Taiwan— traveled to the Asian nation last week to perform for President Tai Ing-Wen.
Wind performed a total of three show-stopping songs during her set for the politician.
“This is probably the first presidential office in the world to host a drag show,” Nymphia told Tsai after her performance and thanked Tsai for her service.
“Thank you for your contributions to this country, so that I could grow up to be like this today,” Nymphia added with tears in her eyes. “Thank you for your eight years of dedication, becoming our Taiwan mother.”]
Tsai in return, thanked Nymphia for sharing her craft with the office and even congratulated the talented queen again for her victory on RuPaul's Drag Race.
“I want to thank you for demonstrating your fearless beauty, standing up and breaking down barriers,” adding that her story “will bring courage to many young people in Taiwan, so they stay fearless and stay true to their hearts.”
According Reuters, Tsai and her Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) fought for pro LGBTQ+ agendas and legalized same-sex marriage in 2019.
Nymphia was off the heels of another incredible experience, winning season 16 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. In her acceptance speech Nymphia dedicated the award to the country close to her heart.
“To those who feel like they don’t belong, just remember to live fearlessly and have courage to live your truth – and Taiwan this is for you!”
