Looking to add a new horror fave to your October movie lineup?
Just in time for spooky season, Queens of the Dead follows a group of drag queens, club kids, and other zany characters when a zombie apocalypse breaks out the night of a giant warehouse party.
Needless to say, gore, guts, and glitter ensue throughout the night of terror when the zombies crash the party, and our group must fight to survive.
The horror-comedy stars Margaret Cho, Dominique Jackson, Katy O’Brian, Tomás Matos, Jaquel Spivey, and also RuPaul’s Drag Race‘s Nina West. The film is directed by Tina Romero, the daughter of George Romero, who directed Dawn of the Dead.
The trailer shows Pose star Dominque Jackson stylishly extracting a zombie’s eyeball out with a corkscrew attached to her heels. Slayyy!
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Nina West said, “Being part of this movie has been incredible.
“I got to experience something so magical, so queer and so camp–I really can't believe that I get to be a part of it.”
She also promises the film “will take audiences on such a wild ride.” Check out the full trailer below before its October 24 theatrical release:
