RuPaul's Drag Race acknowledges season 15's shortened episodes

Since making a move to MTV, RuPaul’s Drag Race has seen many changes to the program. However, it’s no secret that Drag Race fans were outraged after finding out remaining episodes of season 15 would be shortened to make way for a new network reality show.

According to Deadline, MTV chose to air episodes of The Real Friends of WeHo in between Drag Race and UnTucked "build a destination night by using the existing hit franchise.”

The Real Friends of WeHo is a new show inspired by The Real Housewives franchise. It seeks to explore the lives and drama of a group of famous LGBTQ+ friends in West Hollywood. The cast includes the likes of Todrick Hall and Brad Goreski, Curtis Hamilton, Dorión Renaud, and Jaymes Vaughan.

Unfortunately, this resulted in runways being rushed with little commentary coming from the judges and contestants. Both have come out with their thoughts on the new schedule and the implications that have come from it.

This week’s episode featured Loni Love as guest judge. After its premiere, Love took to Twitter to post: "My apologies to The Queens .. you spend time making these fabulous looks and deserve more than under two minutes to show them off..."

Additionally, the queens aren’t shy to speak their mind either. Loosey LaDuca tweeting: "These short runways are AC-TU-AL-LY killing me. All that time, money, and effort. Yeeeesh."

Eliminated queen Irene Dubois posted: "If they played my runway for 7 seconds… But hey, 7 is better than 0."

"Personally, I am not really shafted by the 2 second runways because it only takes 1 second to realize that something is either c**t or hot booboo garbáge (*joke*)," Luxx Noir London tweeted.

RuPaul's Drag Race US airs on MTV in the US and WOW Presents Plus in the UK. What are your thoughts on the edited episodes? Sound off in the comments below.
