The queens are coming for the crown in Hulu’s All’s Fair Season 2!
Despite significant negative reception and a low Rotten Tomatoes score, Ryan Murphy’s legal melodrama has been renewed for a second season, with some iconic drag artists joining the cast.
Season two of the drama series is set to include icons Bob the Drag Queen (Season 8), Monét X Change (All Stars 7), Lady Bunny, and Daya Betty (All Stars 10).
Jewels Sparkles (Season 17), Marcia Marcia Marcia (Season 15), and Olivia Lux (All Stars 10) will also be featured.
While little is known about their roles in the upcoming season, an official synopsis teases: “As new allegiances form, friendships are tested, and a shocking revelation threatens the very existence of the firm.”
The first season centered on an all-woman team of divorce attorneys fronted by Allura Grant (Kim Kardashian), Liberty Ronson (Naomi Watts), and Emerald Greene (Niecy Nash-Betts) as they started their own firm. The A-list cast also included mighty actresses Sarah Paulson, Teyana Taylor, and Glenn Close.
Some viewers found the show’s acting subpar, specifically Kim Kardashian’s performance, and felt the script lacked depth. Others actually appreciated its dramatic flair and campiness.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Murphy addressed the harsh reception of the first season. "First of all, I think the critics are wrong. If you look at my career since I started, which was Popular, almost everything that I have made was never embraced critically."
He said, "I made it for people like me who loved that heightened '80s soapy procedural thing.
All’s Fair will premiere on Hulu and Disney+ in November after a showing on October 24 at the Rome Film Festival.
