RuPaul's new memoir makes the iconic host a best-selling author

The library is open and RuPaul‘s memoir “The House of Hidden Meanings” debuted on Tuesday and is already considered the No. 1 bestseller on Amazon. From Rupaul’s humble beginnings to how the Emmy-winning artist reached stardom, the memoir is a must-read for fans of the “Queen of Drag.”

The gripping book starts off with his early years growing up as a queer Black kid in San Diego, his strained relationships with his absent father and temperamental mother. Additionally, we learn of stories leading to his discovery of the drag scene in Atlanta and to falling in love with his husband, Georges LeBar, and becoming sober.

When promoting the release of the book back in October, RuPaul explained on social media, “I’m so excited and so anxious at the same time, because I reveal so much of myself,”

“You know, this world today it feels so hostile and it’s such a scary place to be vulnerable in, but I did it. So, get ready.”

RuPaul previously released a book in 2018 book, Guru, is filled with stunning photos and provides readers with his secret to success Another literary work called “Workin' It!: RuPaul's Guide to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Style gives tips on fashion and beauty.

“Writing this book left me gooped, gagged and stripped raw,” RuPaul. “I’ve learned that vulnerability is strength, but so far, all I feel is nervous as hell, yet super excited to share it with y’all. When all is said and done, it’s just me, Ru.”
