Trinity K Bonet has come out as transgender. The RuPaul’s Drag Race alum shared the news with fans via recent social media posts.
Trinity first appeared on season six of RuPaul’s Drag Race in 2018 and placed ninth before returning for All Stars 6 in 2021 where she placed fifth.
According to Out, the Drag Race star shared a selfie via X/Twitter. Trinity posted heart, trans flag and tongue emojis alongside the post. The next day, she posted a photo of herself using the Snapchat username “Trinity Jones.”
Bonet later confirmed to Out that she identifies as transgender, writing: “Hey, how are you doing? Yeah, I did come out [as trans]. Lol but I’m not trying to do interviews and make a big deal about it. I’ve always been Trinity. I’m just keeping wig on. Lol.”
During her initial run on Drag Race, Bonet became the second queen in series history to open up about being HIV-positive, following Ongina in season one.
“Being a person who is openly HIV-positive, for a long time, I was a lot of secrets for a lot of people. But I’m nobody’s secret. I’m successful, I got my shit together, I’m good in bed. I’m taking care of myself.”
Bonet joins a growing number of Drag Race stars who have come out as trans in recent years, including season 16 contestant Amanda Tori Meating, Adore Delano, Detox and Kylie Sonique Love.
