Everyone’s favorite Mexican fast-food chain announced that they plan to host a series of drag brunch shows at select restaurants all throughout Spring.
Taco Bell’s “Drag Brunch Tour” will make a total of five stops around major US cities. The events will take place at the brand's select Cantina locations announced on their site. Hosted by drag performer Kay Sedia (a play on quesadilla), the events will feature “local queens and kings.
According to the press release, attendees will be able to enjoy "captivating visual backdrops, craveable breakfast menu items, thrilling lip-syncs, and extraordinary high kicks and dips."
“The TACO is out of the bag!!!” Sedia wrote in an Instagram post. “I’m going on tour with @tacobell!! I’m so excited to host TACO BELL CANTINAS first ever Drag Brunch in five cities across the US!! Morning breakfast is about to get even sexier!”`
Created by Taco Bell’s Live Más Pride label, the organization is committed to donating to the non-profit organization, It Gets Better Project, which helps to uplift, empower, and connect lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer youth around the world.
"We understand the importance of creating safe spaces for the LGBTQIA+ community and are thrilled to provide a unique experience that spotlights and celebrates the wonderful artform of drag and its influence in culture with their chosen families," Sean Tresvant, Taco Bell's global chief brand officer, shared.
"[Live Más Pride] has played a major role in driving awareness of and meaningfully supporting LGBTQIA+ communities both within Taco Bell and the communities we serve and operate in."
At the time of reporting, Taco Bell's Drag Brunch series will be stopping by these major US cities: Las Vegas (May 1), Chicago (May 22), Nashville (May 29), New York City (June 12), and Fort Lauderdale (June 26).
