The queens of All Stars 9 take over the the country's capital

This week, the queens of All Stars 9 are taking over the nation—well, the nation’s capital anyway!

On Monday, the eight new queens were seen sashaying in Washington D.C. to promote the ninth season of the Emmy-nominated reality series.

The season nine cast includes Angeria Paris VanMicheals, Gottmik, Jorgeous, Nina West, Plastique Tiara, Roxxxy Andrews, Shannel, and Vanessa Vanjie Mateo.

Upon touchdown, the group visited locations like the White House and the Lincoln Memorial and even participated in interviews with D.C. media outlets.

Additionally, the queens got the chance to Kiki with White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre — the first Black woman and LGBTQ+ person to hold this position.

"When we're here in the nation's capital when such conversations are happening within this country about drag bans and book bans and drag story hours, and kind of how people see us on the other side of the aisle, it's empowering, and it's impactful," Nina West told The Advocate.

“It feels like progress,” said “Drag Race” Season 14 contestant Angeria Paris VanMicheals, reflecting on the significance of promoting the show in the nation’s capital.

“In this moment, I feel very proud of my country and just the fact that we’re able to do stuff like this now,” she said. “It kind of shows how far we are coming as a country — slowly but surely, we get there.”
