Trixie Mattel, one of the most successful drag queens to come from the RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise, made another insane addition to her resume this weekend, making her musical debut at Coachella!
Mattel made her premiere on April 12 at the festival’s DoLaB, where she brought her Solid Pink Disco dance party to the California desert. Her set was described as “high-energy” complete with pop chart toppers and house tracks.

“I was excited that I would get to play in front of people who don’t know me,” Mattel told ELLE.com before her set.
“With Solid Pink Disco, it’s all diehard Trixie fans. We have costume reveals and wigs, and dancers. It’s a lot more than what I think the DoLaB stage is exposed to.”
However, this queen isn't new to the festival scene.
In 2023, she was a force at Stagecoach, showing off some of her country roots to her fans. There, she was known as the first drag queen to perform at the country music celebration.
Ahead of her Coachella set, Trixie released a bold cover of RuPaul’s iconic smash hit “Supermodel (You Better Work)”, a collaboration with pop music innovator VINCINT.
Trixie's highly anticipated performance was especially poignant given the uncertain climate surrounding LGBTQ+ rights.
“There’s so many famous gay DJs and producers from Divine to RuPaul, and even the ones who don’t tell you they’re gay. I feel like all of them pushed [forward for the rest of us],” she says.
“As gay people, all we do is ride the waves that were created by people before us.”
Mattel is hitting the road again this summer, where she will headline the first-ever Outloud Music Festival in Boston on June 21 alongside Kim Petras.
