Tyra Sanchez says she plans to sue RuPaul, Michelle Visage and World of Wonder in statement

In a Facebook post, Tyra Sanchez – whose legal name is James Ross – shared details of the intended lawsuit against RuPaul, Michelle Visage and the production company World of Wonder.

She made the lawsuit and its details public in a Facebook post in the spirit of “transparency” and outlining the basis for her intended lawsuit.

“Before my words are twisted. Before blogs attempt to paint me how they see fit. Here’s my full transparency regarding my lawsuit against RuPaul’s Drag Race,” she wrote.

According to the “statement of claim” published online, Tyra brings legal action against events of “emotional distress, defamation, false light, and tortious interference” from RuPaul, Michelle Visage and World of Wonder Productions.

Tyra describes a long-term pattern of conduct harming her career and reputation.

According to her statement, “For over a decade, Defendants, acting collectively and in concert, have engaged in a pattern of conduct designed to discredit, disparage, and destroy Ross’s professional reputation, with reckless disregard for the truth and with the intent to incite hatred, harassment, and ostracization within the entertainment industry and among the public,” the post read.

Tyra competed and won season two of RuPaul’s Drag Race and has been regarded as one of the franchises most controversial queens to come from the franchise.

From being banned from DragCon in 2018 to making offensive comments following the deaths of The Vivienne and Jiggly Caliente, Sanchez has effectively malaligned herself with the show’s fanbase with calls for her title to be stripped.

RuPaul spoke out after the tweet about The Vivienne went viral for its bad taste, responding with a clip of himself slapping Tyra during a season two acting challenge.

Sanchez’s post on Facebook included an old interview clip of Visage saying that if she had been a judge on the show for season two, she ‘would have fought really hard’ for season two runner-up Raven to win.

Additionally, she references a false police report filed by World of Wonder accusing the retired performer of threatening to “blow up DragCon” in 2018.

In All Stars 10, RuPaul crowned season 2 runner-up Raven the winner of the challenge, which many took as a dig following Tyra’s controversial behavior.

The stars statement ended with saying she is seeking “affirmative relief, including compensatory and punitive damage”, and “declaratory relief acknowledging the Defendants’ wrongful conduct”.
