RuPaul’s Drag Race season 11 alum Yvie Oddly married her partner Doug Illsley last week. Oddly revealed the news via Instagram, complete with a carousel of pics from the courthouse wedding
"Last week I got married to some guy I met on grindr…," she captioned the post. "Now, I have A LOT of strong opinions about the institution of marriage but you can hear all about those on my Strange Love tour… For now I’ll just say that I love @dougyills and I’m so happy to be his hersband".
Doug wrote in the comments: "Love u 4ever, even when you make us almost late to our own courthouse wedding," Yvie quipping in response: "I needed. To paint. MY NAILS!!!".
Since breaking the happy news to the public, many fellow drag race queen wasted no time also passing on their congratulations to the happy couple.
Brooke Lynn Hytes wrote: "Awwwwwwwweeeee" and "Congratulations!!!".
Meanwhile, Jinkx Monsoon shared a series of red heart and clapping emojis, while Shea Couleé added: "Congrats Yvie!!!".
Many remember when Oddly took to social media to share her disdain for her edit on her season of the show.
"TBH my experience was pretty gruesome from the start. And while you can be assured that 'none of that will make the edit', it doesn't change anything in the moment," she said. "Going back I learned a lot about myself, as I was forced to question whether or not I fit into this specific world (even as a winner).
"But instead of showing ANY of that struggle (or really any reason for me to be there), I've been lobotomized and presented as some goofy big-dicked mascot, bravely laughing through my chronic illness, happy to be along for the ride."
"The only part of my truth that was shown was how the girls were my rock in this competition, and how happy it's made me to share any more of my art with you… so for that I'm truly thankful."
