Drag Race Philippines reveals two trans judges to host first season

In another “Drag Race” first, the highly anticipated Philippines spin-off will be the first in the franchise to feature two trans women as permanent judges.

It was previously announced that All-Star’s 6 queen Jiggly Caliente would be the first name to join the program. On Wednesday, World of Wonder 'ruvealed' that iconic entertainer KaladKaren will sit alongside Jiggly too!

The newest member of Drag Race Philippines took to social media to celebrate the surprising announcement.

"Two trans women on the judging panel of #DragRacePH! Let's take up space! THE TIME IS NOW!!!! Mabuhay ang mga LGBTQIA+ Filipinos!"

Known for impersonating broadcast journalist Karen Davila (AKA Kaladkaren) is no stranger to the hosting world. In fact, she has hosted several talent shows such as The Voice and I Can See Your Voice.

“The future is TRANS,” Jiggly posted on Twitter amid the exciting news. “@kerricolby flicked her fingers n made 2 trans women main judges on a franchise. @jervijervi brings such a richness in knowledge of the Philippines drag industry to table that I'm excited for you all to see. This is GIRL POWER.”

Jiggly’s role on the panel makes her the latest Drag Race queen to preside over an international spin-off.

She follows in the footsteps of season 11 finalist Brooke Lynn Hytes who is judging Canada's Drag Race contestants, Rita Baga, who will be hosting Drag Race Belgium and season 12 queen Nicky Doll who is seated at the Drag Race France panel.

Fans also recently learned that the show will be hosted by the ever-talented actor,make-up artist and costume designer Paolo Ballesteros.

Fanatics can catch Drag Race Philippines when it premieres Aug. 17 on WOW Presents Plus. But until then, we will be anxiously awaiting more details like an official cast and list of guest judges.
