While July 14 marks International Non-Binary Day, the entire week is dedicated to the awareness of identities everywhere. Not only are we celebrating the achievements in the community but also making awareness for issues we still need to overcome. First celebrated in 2012, the occasion has garnered much success since then. Across the world, people are showing support and flaunting their true selves. The term “non-binary” describes someone who does not identify exclusively as a man or a woman. Non-binary people may identify as being both a man and a woman or as falling completely outside these categories. For some, this identity can fluctuate. MJ Rodriguez Emmy nomination makes history

As award season gets underway, we are quickly learning about all of the 2021 nominations. But one of this year's biggest award show's made headlines this week when they announced a certain LGBTQ+ star's up for an award. Pose star Mj Rodriguez received an Emmy nomination for Lead Actress in a Drama Series. Consequently, this makes her the first trans woman in history recognized in a lead acting category. A-listers join for LGBTQ+ Love in Action telethon

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many individuals suffered. However, the "Love in Action" telethon is back for a second time, supporting the LGBTQ+ community. Following its successful live telethon in 2020 which raised an incredible $1.3 million, the Los Angeles LGBT Center will produce a second edition of Love in Action on Saturday, August 14, from 7‚Äì9 p.m. PT.  The fundraising show, presented by The Ariadne Getty Foundation and Glamazon L.A., airs on KTLA 5, sustaining vital programs and services impacted by the pandemic. Historic Crowning: New Miss Nevada is transgender

For the first time, an openly transgender woman has competed and won a US pageant title, Miss Nevada. During Sunday's competition, Kataluna Enriquez beat out 21 other candidates to represent Nevada in the Miss USA pageant. Previously, Enriquez won the Miss Silver State USA pageant in March, a preliminary competition for the Miss Nevada USA pageant. Shortly after her historic win, Enriquez thanked the LGBTQ community on Instagram. ‚ÄúMy win is our win. We just made history.
